Bariatric Surgery Treatment Options

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass

Gastric bypass can result in significant weight loss for most patients, and offer tremendous benefits when performed at the Institute using the minimally invasive da Vinci Surgical System.

Our surgical weight loss experts offer these highly effective types of bariatric surgery:

Duodenal Switch

The duodenal switch procedure is the most powerful operation for insulin-dependent diabetics, people with very high triglyceride or cholesterol levels, and/or people with a great deal of weight to lose.

Sleeve Gastrectomy

The sleeve gastrectomy procedure can be successful in weight loss and improving or resolving type 2 diabetes in many patients.

Adjustable Gastric Band (Lap Band)

Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding surgery uses a band-like device around the stomach to help patients gradually eat less and therefore achieve significant weight loss.

See Dr. Dennis Smith explain his mission-driven path to becoming a bariatric surgeon, helping to "make the world a better place" by improving each patient's life through effective bariatric surgery treatment options.
