Is Weight Loss Surgery Right For You?

If diet and exercise haven’t been enough to achieve a healthy body weight, you might be a good candidate for weight loss surgery. The Florida Hospital Tampa Bariatric & Metabolic Institute offers a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to weight loss by focusing on whole health and applying customized care for overall well-being.

Our state-of-the-art, minimally invasive weight loss procedures include:

  • Gastric Sleeve Also known as sleeve gastrectomy, the stomach is reduced to 25% of its original size, resulting in a sleeve or tube-like structure.
  • Gastric Bypass: The stomach is divided into a small upper pouch and a much larger lower "remnant" pouch, with the small intestine rearranged to connect both.
  • Revisional Surgery: The correction of a previous weight loss procedure, typically Lap-Band removal, stoma reduction or stomach pouch reduction.
